ADGP Alok Kumar takes stock of law and order situation in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 4: Additional director general of police (ADGP) Law and Order, Alok Kumar visited several areas of Surathkal and Bajpe police station limits.

During his visit, he also interacted with the police personnel and general public. He gathered details about the situation from the senior officials.

Later, the ADGP held a meeting with the senior police officials to review the situation of law and order and preparedness for restoration of normalcy under Mangaluru city police commissionerate and Dakshina Kannada police limits.

It may be recalled that communal tension prevailed in the district following the gruesome murder of three youth in the Dakshina Kannada and Mangaluru police commissionerate limits. Deputy commissioner Dr KV Rajendra had imposed prohibitory orders section 144 of CrPC.

The ADGP also visited Mangaluru district prison.

    Unreasonable restrictions on general public must now stop. Why should general public suffer due to a few goons and the incompetence of authorities? However pathetic the killings were, Would they lockdown a city like Bangalore and inconvenience all its citizens for 2-3 murders?
