Mangaluru: Inter ITI cricket, throwball tourney inaugurated at St Aloysius ITI

Mangaluru, Mar 9: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district level inter ITI cricket and throwball tournament ‘Aloysius Premier League 2018’ organised by St Aloysius ITI Alumni Association was inaugurated at St Aloysius Centenary Ground on Friday, March 9.

S Ganesh Rao, chairman, Karavali Group of Colleges inaugurated the tournament. Fr Dionysius Vaz, rector, St Aloysius Institutions, presided over the inaugural programme. Fr Dr Leo D’Souza, former director, St Aloysius ITI was the guest of honor.



In his inaugural speech S Ganesh Rao said, "Games and sports always helps one to bring discipline in life. It also helps in attaining physical fitness. Winning and losing is a part of life. A defeat makes one strong and brings him or her closer to victory. A person securing victory after many failures indicates that he is a hard worker and richly deserves the victory. I congratulate the alumni association of St Aloysius ITI for organising this sports event.”

Fr Dionysius Vaz said, "Several students who have played at this ground have become successful and earned a name. Many of have shined at national level too. Our institution has always supported talents and helped students to show their full potential in sports or extra circular activities. The alumni of ITI conducting this event show their loves towards the institution and how they are connected with our college. I am thankful to all the office bearers of the alumni for their support and generosity towards their college.

Rajaneesh Kapikad, corporator, Fr Eric Mathias, director, ITI, Vincent Mendonca, principal, Naveen Rasquinha, president, Alumni Association, and Rajith Kumar, secretary, were present.
