Mangalore: Bishop Aloysius Paul Releases First List of Transfers of Clergy

Mangalore, May 23: Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore diocese has issued the first list of transfers/appointments of clergies across the district. Fr Mark Castelino of Kelrai, Fr Hilary Lobo of Taccode, Fr William Martis of Bolkunje and Fr Norbert Lobo of Mariashram are among a few prominent priests who have been transfered after completing their terms in the existing parishes.

It keeps them informed about the happenings in their parishes in the native place and paves way for greater involvement in the activities of their native parishes/places.

    The Harvest is many but the labourers are few. Thank the Lord for sending labourers in His vineyard. It is not only Fr Jerry from Mulki who is transfered but so many other priests also. Wishing all the best for the priests in their new assignments.

    Mr.Roland u cant compare welcoming a priest to there parishes and how many of them go to mass to our respective churches.welcoming is entirely different and going for mass is different.we no need to point at others hw much masses we are attending.we cant force anyone to go to the church.thats their faith towards GOD JESUS CHRIST.

    In a Diocese as well as in Government Offices and Commercial Firms re-locations are not easy. It is difficult to please every one and therefore it is not an easy task for The Authorities to effect these transfers. However I am sure everything is done in the best interests of the Diocese as well as the ecclesiastics after taking into account their aptitudes etc.

    I was present at the reception of our New Assistant Parish Priest at Milgris Church. A tall and towering personality - Father Thomas D''Souza. He should go a long way. With Father Walter D''Mello as the Parish Priest he will get all the encouragement and support. Welcome to you Father Thomas. may your tenure at Milagris be a happy and fruitful one. Joe Gonsalves

    Fr. Prakash Cutinho one who was the Principal of St.Mary''s P.U. Colege has informed us during his transfer that he is going to Australia for higher studies. It is a surprise to us that he is transfered to Uppinangady as a Parish Priest. He has already left from Kundapur in the month of April and now I see that his transfer is on 1st of July.
