Recipes - Banana -Grape Pulissery

Ingredients:

1 Ripe Nendran Banana
¼ cup grapes (black)
¾ cup grated coconut
½ cup curd
2 green chillies
¼ ” ginger 
½ tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. cumin (jeera)
Salt as per taste
1 cup water

Seasoning:
2 tbsp. coconut oil
1 tsp. mustard
1 long red chilly
½ tsp. methi seeds (fenugreek)
Few curry leaves 

Method:

Peel and cut banana into 1”  pieces.  Grind coconut along with cumin,1 green chilly and small piece of ginger into a fine paste.  Slightly whip curd in the blender and set aside.

In a thick bottomed vessel cook banana pieces and grapes  along with 1 green chilly, little chopped ginger, turmeric powder, salt and water. Cook it on medium flame.  

When banana is cooked and soft, add ground coconut paste and stir for 2 minutes on low flame. Now add curd, stir for a minute and put off the flame.

Seasoning:

In a pan heat coconut oil and  splutter mustard. Brown methi seeds, broken red chilly and  curry leaves. Pour this over the banana pulisseri.

Serve hot with brown  or white rice.

Note: Pulissery could be made with Pumpkin, Lady Finger, Mango and Brinjal.
