Recipes - Green Chutney with Dry Fish

Ingredients

¾ cup grated coconut
5-6 bombay ducks or any other dry fish
2 green chillies
½" ginger
6 flakes garlic
2-3 seeds tamarind
1 tbsp. coconut oil
Salt as per taste
1 small onion (optional)/minced

Method

Wash and soak dry fish in water for some time to reduce the salt content. Remove from water and pat dry. Heat a pan and dry roast the fish well. Break fish into small pieces and add coconut oil and set aside.

In a chutney jar grind chillies, ginger, garlic and tamarind adding little salt. Lastly add coconut and grind coarsely. ( Do not add water). Add fried fish and mix well. Sprinkle minced onion (optional).

Serve with congie or steamed rice with sambar of your choice.
