Recipes - Prawns and Potato Curry (Jeera Pepper)

Ingredients:


25 medium prawns (shelled and de veined)
6 long red chillies
2 medium potatoes (peeled and cubed)
Salt as per taste

To Grind:

1 large onion
1 tsp. cumin
5 pepper corns
2 seeds tamarind
3 flakes garlic
¼ tsp. turmeric powder
¼ cup grated coconut

For Seasoning:

2 tbsp. coconut oil
1 medium onion (sliced)

Method:

Cook potatoes adding little water and set aside.

Grind all the masala ingredients adding very little water, into a fine thick paste.

Heat a cooking pot with oil and fry sliced onion until light brown. Add masala and keep frying for about 8 to 10 minutes, adding masala water gradually until it gives out good aroma. Adjust the consistency of the gravy adding water. Add salt, prawns and cooked potato. Bring to a good boil and cook until the prawns are done.

Serve with steamed rice.

    I had a question. Are the six red long chillies mentioned with the ingredient's (prawns) to be ground with the masala? This has not been clarified in the recipe.
