Udupi, Apr 30: The main entrance to A and B Towers of ‘Mandavi Emerald’ residential-cum-commercial complex built at Vidyaratnanagar Manipal on End Point Road by Mandavi Developers, headed by Jerry Vincent Dias, a leading name in construction business, was inaugurated by T Mohandas Pai, chairman of Manipal Media Network Ltd, on Friday April 29. Mandavi Emerald is one the most prestigious projects of Mandavi Developers.

Sri Sugunendrateertha Swamiji of Puttige Mutt inaugurated the inaugural function by lighting a lamp.


































In his inaugural address, Sugunendrateertha Swamiji congratulated Jerry Vincent Dias for his valuable services to the citizens of the town and Manipal through his projects. “Such buildings enable a number of families to live together, and this has become necessary because of the fast-paced development of the city,” he said, and invoked blessings of the Lord to the promoter of the building, so that he will get to execute many more such projects in future.

T Mohandas Pai, chairman, Manipal Media Network Pvt Ltd, Manipal, hailed Jerry Dias for his entrepreneurship, leadership qualities, and social service initiatives.

Fr Godfrey Saldanha, parish priest, St Joseph church, Neermarga, Mangalore, blessed the new project. “During the last 16 years I have blessed a number of projects executed by Jerry,” he said. On this occasion, Fr Saldanha also recollected work of Dr T M A Pai and his long vision in the fields of education, banking, healthcare etc. He said that projects like Mandavi Emerald will result in still faster development of Manipal. He wished that this entire education city be blessed by god, and the citizens living here will be able to lead a happy and peaceful life.

Dr V S Acharya, state minister for higher education, said that Jerry Vincent Dias has the ability and potential to work in a number of fields, and that irrespective which field he chooses, he will become successful because of his hard work and dedication. “Jerry chose the field of construction as his carrier. Udupi is an ancient place, and during the last some yeas, it is registering fast growth. Udupi has been remapped in the last some years as everyone can see, because of the improving of infrastructure and new projects that are coming up in the town and surrounding areas,” he added.

Acharya expressed the view that Jerry Vincent Dias should be provided with an opportunity to work in the task forces of the government being set up in urban development, housing schemes, etc. He felt Jerry can make valuable contributions to the working of such task forces by giving his suggestions and ideas about development initiatives, which will be of great help to the government.

On this occasion, Dr Acharya felicitated Varadraj, chief fire officer of the district.

Promoters, Jerry Vincent Dias, Molly Dias, and Glen Dias, were present on the dais.

About Mandavi: -

Udupi has long been famous for its education, healthcare services, banking and a number of other things related to Manipal. Mandavi Emerald has come up in such a place. This is located on the way leading to the district deputy commissioner’s office, being built on about four acres of plot, spread over five different towers, which will house 396 residential apartments and 25 commercial establishments. In Tower A, 120 flats of two and three BHK, and 25 commercial shops are located. In tower B and C, 132 flats are built, while in D and E towers, a total of 144 flats are coming up. In total, 396 flats will be available once the project is completed. At present, work is in full swing in towers C, D, and E.

Mandavi Place and Mandavi Pradise comprise 100 flats. Block A and B of Mandavi Plaza together have 32 flats. Mandavi Pearl City is spread over three different towers, in which 195 flats are located.  Out of the five projects of Mandavi, about 327 flats are ready for occupation. Almost 400 families will be living in this building. 723 apartments are spread over five different projects of Mandavi, in which, about 2,100 people will be living. In course of time, special services like retail outlets, laundry, ATMs, and more facilities will be provided at these buildings. These five towers and apartments together look like a small township.
