Mangaluru, Oct 15: SDPI state secretary Ashraf Machar said, “The police department should reveal the reason behind the raid on SDPI leaders. They should also tell on whose orders the raids are being conducted to target SDPI leaders.”

He furthers aid, “The SDPI is a political party recognised by the Election Commission. There are 300 elected representatives in the state. The police are conducting raid in the night and have mentioned cooked up stories in the FIR. The SDPI leaders are named accused number 1 in the FIR. On the pretext of banning the PFI, unnecessary raids are conducted on residences of the SDPI leaders.

“Bogged down under pressure, the police commissioner is conducting the raids. There are unseen hands who are misusing the police to silence the voices raised against the government.
