Mangalore, May 13: The 4th year BSc nursing students of Father Muller College of Nursing celebrated Nurses’ Day on Thursday May 12 at their community posting area at Jeppinamogaru, Mangalore.
The programme began with an invocation at 10.30 am. Nisha George welcomed the gathering, Shiji P J, lecturer, FMCON, explained the significance of the day, while Irene, the chief guest of the function and HOD of community health nursing dept, FMCON, conveyed the message on Nurses' Day theme. The spot games were conducted for the audience by Sandra and winners were awarded.
On the occasion a drawing competition for children below 10 years on the topic of environment and a quiz competition for children 10-16 years old on the topic 'health and malaria' was held on Tuesday May 10 at community area, and the winners were awarded on Nurses' Day.
The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks by Neethu T P. Arpitha compered the programme. The whole programme was planned for the residents of Jeppinamogaru area were students are getting their community health exposure. The programme was conducted by Arpitha D’Souza, Neethu T P, Nimmy, Neethu Mol and Nisha George under the guidance and supervision of Jasmine S Vas. The celebration was held at Abdul Razak’s house Jeppinamogaru, Mangalore.
At the end sweets were distributed to the public.
