Mangaluru, Dec 2: In a press conference, Anwar Manippady, former president of state minority commission and joint spokesperson of BJP, accused chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai of shielding accused who have grabbed Wakf property.

Manippady said, “In the recent programme of the minority welfare department, CM Bommai said that Wakf scam is only Rs 2200 crore. In reality, the scam is around Rs 2.30 lac crore. Bommai is trying to protect the accused by giving this kind of false information.

“My report which was submitted to the High court and Supreme Court with regards to the Wakf property scam has got verdict in my favour. The Supreme Court has ordered the government to present the report in assembly and take suitable action. However, the BJP government did not implement the facts of my report. Except for the Rs 2200 crore scam, let investigation be held by two retired judges of high court to bring the truth to light,” he said.
