Mangaluru: Fire mishap at house, goods worth lac of rupees gutted

Mangaluru, Dec 23: A house caught fire accidentally on the night of Wednesday at Maradka Marigudi near Kinnigoli and household goods worth lac of rupees gutted.

The house belonged to Sunanda Poojarthi. The tiled house caught fire while her son Nityananda was inside the house at midnight. However, he ran for his life and averted danger.

Locals tried to douse the fire by pouring water. Later the fire service personnel arrived and brought the fire under control.

It is said that Sunanda had gone to her relative’s house on the day of the mishap. Former panchayat member, chief officer of panchayat and revenue officials visited the house.
