Karnataka records highest GST collection of Rs 6,095 crore in January: CM

Bengaluru, Feb 11: Karnataka has achieved a record in the collection of GST at Rs 6,095 crore during the month of January.

With the highest GST collection of Rs 6,095 crore in a month, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday claimed that the State continues to be the topmost state with a highest GST collection of 30%.

Bommai said the improvements and reforms in the tax collection efforts, robust economic growth and increased tax compliance among the traders and businessmen was responsible for the record performance.

``The highest GST collection in the month of January is an happy augury for the presentation of the State’s annual budget for the year 2023-24,’’ the Chief Minister said.
