DRS to be Made Mandatory in all Int'l Matches - BCCI

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi/ HongKong, Jun 27:
The BCCI on Monday June 27 agreed to make the Decision Review System (DRS) mandatory in all international matches at the ICC Annual Conference.

The DRS in a slightly modified version would have Hot-Spot technology. However, LBW decisions would not be under the purview of the DRS as the 'ball tracker' has been removed  from the ICC's original compulsory list of DRS technologies. But, the mandatory terms and conditions for the DRS will now consist of 'thermal imaging' and 'sound technology'.

The BCCI has agreed to the use of technology in decision-making which will include infra-red cameras and audio-tracking devices.

The DRS has been opposed so far as it was not said to be accurate. However, the Hot-Spot technology has now made it acceptable to the BCCI.
