Mangalore, Jul 1: BJP state president, K S Eshwarappa, insisted that the state government will not entrust the cases relating to ill-gotten wealth of former Prime Minister, Deve Gowda, and his family members to Central Bureau of Investigation. He was speaking to news men during his visit to the city on Thursday June 30.

“Our party has issued a charge sheet relating to the properties that Deve Gowda and his family members have acquired illegally. We have now decided to desist from responding to criticisms from the opposition leaders, and concentrate on state’s development and strengthening of the party organization. Our aim is to get 150 seats in the next assembly election,” he revealed.

He said that the performance of the state government has got recognition through a number of awards bagged by the state from the centre. At the same time, he blamed the opposition parties of raising a din in the assembly session, without proving their points with supporting evidences or documents. Eshwarappa expressed happiness at the fact that the people have not fallen prey to these ulterior designs, and have recognized the development initiatives of the BJP. “I had never seen such a low level politics in my political career spanning over two decades,” he added. He also compared the activities of Yeddyurappa and Deve Gowda, claiming that the Chief Minister reserves his time and energy for the welfare of the farmers of the state, while Deve Gowda fights for his own children.

“The state is subjected to step-motherly treatment by the centre. We are not getting 1,434 mw of power allocated to us. We are starving of coal, while the union government has sold coal blocks to private parties. The opposition should question the central government on these issues,” he felt.

He confided that he had not so far discussed with B Nagaraj Shetty on the issue of the resignation he has tendered to his chairmanship of Karnataka Coastal Development Authority and primary membership of the BJP.
