Mangaluru: Iron rods fall from pickup vehicle, disrupt traffic at Kottara Chowki

Mangaluru, Oct 9: Traffic was disrupted for some time after iron rods fell from a pickup vehicle near Malemar Cross at Kottara Chowki on National Highway 66 on Thursday night.

According to eyewitnesses, the pickup vehicle was transporting iron rods when a motorcycle suddenly came in its way, forcing the driver to apply the brakes. The sudden braking caused the rods to fall onto the road.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was carrying iron rods that were longer than the permitted limit.

The incident obstructed the movement of vehicles on the busy highway for some time.
