I am also a Senior Citizen gone through the difficulties experienced by Mr. Ferrer. Will the Authorities
look into the matter and give some relief to us. One more suggestion, between Mangalore and Udupi train does not stop. A stop at either Surathkal or Mulki will be of a great help.

Really nice to know that the Bombay CST - Mangalore Junction train will run raily. Its really a nice train and runs till mangalore junction only. Railways should not extend till this train to Mangalore central at all. Rajesh

good news to mangalore that 4 trains out of 5 trains are coming to mangalore which were announced in this years budget.but sad news is that 5th train i.e vasco - vellankanni via mangalore , shornur has been hijacked by our railway minister k. h muniyappa by running it via hubli , krishnarajapuram. again a injustice made to the people of mangalore.

Mangalore Junction is ideal for goods train yard and not a regular railway station where passengers are going through nightmares. In fact, Mamata Benerjee had promised to make a new Mangalore Railway Station of international standard and the authorities have identified a stretch of land near Fisheries College that will have access from NH-66 (NH-17).

Why are our own Yogesh Bhat, Krishna Palemar, Nalin Kumar Kateel and others are not putting pressure on KH Muniyappa to start the project at the earliest. Making Bangalore train deviate from Mangalore Jn. To Karwar is not a wise alternative for the Bangalore bound passengers of Mangalore region.

I vote for C. Ferrar's comments, whatever he said is 100% correct in particular Mangalore Junction ( Kankanady) Station, its very inconvenient to get-down at this station.
Moreover, sometimes journey to Mumbai-M’lore-Mumbai is very unhygienic, trains are dunning with full of cockroaches, bedbugs etc.

Its very good that the 12133/12134 train has been made a daily service but as a senior citizen I have a very serious complaint to make.
At Mangalore Junction ( Kankanady) the train does not come on Platform No 1 which is next to the entrance/exit but comes on Platform No 3 which means that all passengers have to lug their baggage over the bridge.
I had spoken to the Station Master/ Superintendent about the lack of porters or trolleys but he rudely told me that there are none and that I should write to the Railway Ministry.
I had to pay Rs 200/- to have a suitcase & a bag taken over the bridge due to my health condition to the only person willing to help me- a worker from the IRCTC canteen on Platform No 1 who seems to be raking in hundreds if not thousands from pasengers getting down or boarding at this station.
( I think in collusion with the station staff)

If the railways cannot help, then maybe they should permit private organisations to do porterage work at a fixed tariff ( there are plenty of unemployed persons in Mangalore).

Incidentally I have been told that at Mangalore Central station new orders have been issued by Southern Railway on Porterage rates, but not available to those who use such services- the travelling public.

Can not Daiji obtain these tariff rates and put them on the Net and publish them in their newspaper for the public to know?

It will help us senior citizens immensely.

Looks like the Indian Railways IR, particularly SR and KR is hell bent on neglecting the mangalore central (MAQ)by divesting it of trains- allowing only Kerala and Tamilnadu bound trains. however, the mangalore junction MAJN is neglected in another way by not developing it at all!! The state govt too is keeping mum on the matter- they can at least make good approach roads and start frequent bus services from there. At the end of it all, a question begs- do they all care for common man??
