Bangalore, Jul 5: Ummer Farooq, named as an accused in the case of murder attempt on Mangalore-based advocate, Harish Rai, has been arrested. He was taken into custody from the international airport here on Sunday July 4.
Ummer had succeeded in evading arrest relating to the said murder attempt, although the other accused were held. Madoor Yousuf alias Isubu, who was arrested some time back, had revealed that Ummer had escaped to Dubai.
The policemen at all the international airports were sounded on the basis of this information. The personnel had been alerted about the arrival of Ummer Farooq on Sunday. As soon as he landed at the airport here, he was taken into custody. He was later handed over to the police personnel from Mangalore, who came here to take him to Mangalore for interrogation.
