Sullia: Food Gets Stuck in Throat – Tourist Chokes to Death

Sullia, Jul 5: A woman from Kolar, who was on a tour of the state, died after food got stuck in her throat on Sunday July 3. The unlucky victim has been identified as Rani, wife of Muniyappa. The incident occurred at Koinad near Sampaje.

Muniyappa and his family had left Kolar with the intention of visiting various tourist spots across the state. During the family’s visit to Kodagu, their bus had been stopped at Koinad for tea on Sunday evening. Rani was choked after food got stuck in her throat. Efforts to ease the congestion in food pipe failed, and she was taken to the government hospital at Sampaje. However, she died on Sunday night.
