Mangalore: State’s First Batch of Konkani Students Prepare for SSLC Exams

Mangalore, Jul 6: The study of Konkani which begun from Class VI has reached Class X in the current academic year in the state.  Konkani will become one of the examination papers in the forthcoming SSLC examinations in March 2012.

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president and registrar met the director of Karnataka SSLC Examinations Board recently and the director informed them that he will direct the staff to incorporate a new examination code for the Konkani examination, to make changes in OMR application forms, and to prepare question papers.

The Academy acknowledges the support of state authorities in beginning Konkani studies from Class VI and making it to Class X.

The Academy urges the students and their parents, heads of schools, to promote Konkani studies in schools, in a press release issued by the Academy.
