Kolkata, Jul 7 (IANS): Former Indian soccer star P.K. Banerjee will be conferred Mohun Bagan's highest award Mohun Bagan Ratna for his "outstanding service" to the club as coach, the football club announced Wednesday.
The decision was taken at the club's executive committee meeting which unanimously decided to fete the Olympian.
The award will be presented to Banerjee July 29, on the occasion of the Mohun Bagan Day, according to a release.
The club will also hold a function on that day to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mohun Bagan's historic IFA Shield win, the first by any Indian club, on July 29, 1911.
