Kasargod: Ornaments from Necks of Sleeping Couple Yanked Away

Kasargod, Jul 7: A thief entered the house of a couple, both of whom are doctors, on the night of Tuesday July 5, and took away 6.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments they were wearing around their necks.

The house of Dr P K Subnraya Bhat and Dr Shobha Bhat is located at Koodlu Manippady here. The thief entered the house by breaking open the lock of the front door. He then entered the room on the ground floor where the couple were sleeping, and pulled away a four and half sovereign gold chain from the neck of Dr Shobha, and a two sovereign gold chain from the neck of Dr Subraya Bhat.

Although Shobha woke up at the time and raised an alarm, the thief made good his escape. The son of the couple was sleeping on the first floor at the time.

Policemen and finger print experts visited the spot. A case was registered in the local police station, and investigation was initiated.
