Bangalore, Jul 7: Soon after the announcement of union minister for textiles Dayanidhi Maran's resignation, Nithyananda Swamy, one of country's most colourful swamijis who has been in the news ever since Sun TV telecast his 'sex' footage with a woman, announced that he would file a case against Sun Network promoters and executives for 'morphing' his images and airing them on their channels.

On Thursday July 7, in a complaint against Kalanidhi Maran, MD of Sun Network and Hansraj Saxena, COO of Sun Network, already detained by police in connection with a cheating case earlier this week, Nithyananda's aide, Dhyanapeetam's Nityasarvananda sought action against both of them, for letting their Sun TV staff to "trespass" into their ashrams at various places and allegedly assaulting the inmates.

"On March 3 last year, Sun TV aired footage that defamed our organisation. So we have filed a case against Kalanidhi Maran and Hansraj Saxena."  Nityasarvananda said.

Kalanidhi is the brother of Dayanidhi Maran, who today quit as union textile minister over the 2G scam. Both are grandnephews of DMK chief M Karunanidhi.

Nithyananda was arrested last year after various channels telecast the purported video footage which the ashram had described as a "conspiracy" to malign his reputation.

Nithyananda, who also faced criminal charges including rape, was arrested from Himachal Pradesh after remaining elusive for several weeks. The case registered in this connection is pending in a court in Ramanagara near Bangalore.
