Udupi: Fire Caused by Leakage in Fuel Pipe Guts Maruti Omni

Udupi, Jul 8: A Maruti Omni passenger vehicle was gutted in a fire ignited due to a leakage in the petrol pipe at Indrali here at 12.00 pm on Thursday July 7.
Ismail was driving the Omni that was recently bought from a used car dealer and was reconditioned by the owner.
Ismail, the driver, was on his way to Kaup from Manipal along with Razab Ali, Munaf, and Hasanabba, after visiting the Omni owner’s ailing wife who was admitted in KMC Hospital, Manipal. The Omni caught fire near Indrali petrol pump. It was fully burnt by the time fire brigade personnel arrived at the spot. The presence of mind shown by Ismail saved the lives of other passengers who hurriedly alighted.
Manipal police registered a case in this regard.
