Mangalore, Jul 9: In a show of support and loyalty to their chief H D Kumaraswamy who launched his indefinite fast in Bangalore on Saturday July 9, several JD(S) workers in Dakshina Kannada staged a silent protest near the deputy commissioner's office the same day.

The 'silence' in the protest comes from the fact that Kumaraswamy had said he would not be addressing his supporters during the fast. Hence, following their leader's silent fast, the JD(S) workers too chose to remain silent.

The day-long silent protest will go on till 5 pm.

Former minister Amarnath Shetty and local JD(S) leader MG Hegde and others took part in the protest.

Kumaraswamy on July 9 began an indefinite fast over BJP's allegations against his family members that they possessed over Rs 1,500 crore in illegal wealth.
