Mangalore: Admissions Open for PG Diploma in Konkani at St Aloysius Institute

Mangalore, Jul 9: St Aloysius College (Autonomous) has announced admissions open for it two-year Post Graduation Diploma in Konkani (Distance Education) which will commence in September 2011.

Those who have passed Pre-University examination are eligible for the course.

Subjects offered in the first year of the course are Konkani history, literature, drama, poetry and Konkani folklore, literary criticism, linguistics, comparative literature, grammar in the second year.

The subjects will be offered both in Kannada and Devanagri scripts.

An examination will be conducted at the end of each year. The course also offers an opportunity to write a dissertation in lieu of the second year examination if the student wishes.

The fee structure for the first year is Rs 816 and second year is Rs 900.

For students residing abroad the fee structureis Rs 4000 for both the years.
