Udupi, May 6: “The BJP will not be able to make the state Congress free even if they take birth hundred times,” said Congress party spokesperson Sudheer Kumar Maroli. “The Congress government in the leadership of Siddaramaiah has fulfilled 167 promises including Anna Bhagya, Laptop, Shoe Bhagya, Manaswini etc.”, he said. He was speaking in the rally and public meeting held at Parkala on Friday May 5.

“The Congress government had provided houses and Sala Manna. BJP would say Jhatka – Halal cut, Hijab – Azan when jobs were asked. BJP had banned Sri Rama Sene at Goa. The BJP should reply to it,” he said.

Udupi Congress candidate Prasad Raj Kanchan said that people are lamenting that they do not have water, jobs, drainage etc. “Congress should come to power inevitably for them. Nearly 27,000 young people come out after degrees every year. This corrupt government should be defeated as it did not start an industry to provide jobs. They act as commission agents in the tourism industry. BJP has not developed fisheries jetty. They have not provided kerosene oil for country boats. They have not supported farmers also,” he said.

KPCC chief secretary M A Gafoor, state communication division head Amrath Shenoy, Udupi block Congress president Ramesh Kanchan, Sukesh Kunder and others were present.
