Udupi, May 13: Congress candidate Prasadraj Kanchan cheered party workers even after losing. The counting of votes polled for the state Assembly elections were held on Saturday May 13. Kanchan lost to BJP’s Yashpal Suvarna.

Speaking to party workers at the district Congress office, he said, "I am forever with your difficulties and happiness. People of Karnataka have blessed us with a clear majority in the state. Let us work together for the upcoming taluk and zilla panchayat elections. Let us prepare for these elections from now. All he party workers should not be disappointed for any reason. You have worked for me day and night and I know that. I am forever grateful for your work. Let us bow to the people's decision.”
