Udupi, May 14: ‘World Nurses Day’ was celebrated by Girija Healthcare & Surgicals in association with the Senior Chamber of International Temple City Legion Udupi.

Nursing superintendent of hospitals of Udupi and surrounding areas were felicitated at the Girija healthcare and surgicals Udupi showroom.

Dr Sripathi Bhat, senior psychiatrist of Kasturba hospital Manipal and Dr Deepa Nayak, Gynecologist were the chief guests for the program.

Dr Sripathi Bhat, speaking on the importance of celebrating World nurses day said, "Nurses are the heart of any medical facility. People always choose hospitals which have good nursing care. Female nurses are known for their duty and they do it with love and compassion towards the patients. Patients feel relaxed when they receive good nursing care".

Dr Deepa Nayak, speaking on the occasion, said, "Nurses are the backbone of healthcare. I appreciate the initiative of Girija Healthcare and Surgicals in honoring the nurses on world nurses day.
