Beltangady, May 15: The mortal remains of a man were found near the telephone exchange tower of Ujire on Friday.

Thammaiah (55), a native of Kushalnagar of Madikeri, was living in Ujire for many years. He used to sleep at bus stands, closed shops and near the BSNL office. But no one knows about his guardians or family. After his body was found, volunteers of Shaurya Vipathu Ujire Belalu unit informed the matter to the police.

When the bag that was lying beside the dead body of Thammaiah was checked in the presence of police, Rs 6.65 lac cash was found. This was handed over to the police department. It is estimated that this money must have been earned by the deceased as he used work as daily wage labourer.

Police have asked family members or guardians of the deceased, if any, to contact Beltangady police station.

How sad to die as a orphan on road side instead of having a comfortable house or family members?to live as a family man.Working and collecting money and die without anybody at his side.May his soul rest in peace.I am sure many will come forward to claim him as their family member when they hear he has now money.
