Shivamogga: Bhoomi puja held for MIO Cancer Speciality Hospital at Theerthahalli

Shivamogga, May 15: The foundation stone laying programme (Bhumi Puja) of Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO) Cancer Specialty Hospital, Thirthahalli, was held on May 5. Dr D Suresh Rao director of MIO, Savita Satish president of gram panchayat Naratur, Kavita Bhaskar vice president, Raghavendra taluk panchayat manager, and Dr Vishwanath surgical oncologist were present.

Dr Suresh Rao, director of MIO, said that MIO aims to provide quality and effective treatment services to patients with cancer. He mentioned that that cancer is progressing at a very rapid paceacross the nation and there is need to address this issue through early detection and quality treatment. There has continuous progress made in the field of cancer treatment thus a large number of cases are now being addressed more effectively towards complete recovery, enhancement of life span or improved quality of life among patients with cancer. Currently, patients with cancer and their care-givers from places like Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Haveri, Davanagere,Sagar, Sringeri, Koppa etc, are traveling to MIO Mangalore for treatment. The new MIO hospital in Thirthahalli will now make it very convienent to the people of this region to avail quality treatment close their hometown.

Savitha, president of Naratur gram panchayat said that the gram panchayat is very happy that this cancer hospital is being built in our town and will provide all cooperation.

Dr Vishwanath, Oncology Surgeon, in his address highlighted the importance of serving patients with cancer with additional care and dedication. The MIO family has been working with dedication in this direction.
