Mangalore: 'Blossom Showers'  - Giselle Mehta's Debut Novel Set to Release

Media Release

Mangalore, Jul 12: Giselle Mehta's debut novel 'Blossom Showers' will be released at Reliance TimeOut, City Centre here on Sunday July 17 at 11.30 am.

A former bureaucrat, Giselle Mehta will be present at the launch, sharing her thoughts on how the novel 'Blossom Showers' is founded on the perception that an individual rarely achieves closure in the span of a lifetime.

The launch will be graced by Alan Nazareth, author and former diplomat (Bangalore), and H C Parikh, president-elect of The International Book Readers Association, India Chapter.

About 'Blossom Showers' (Lead Start Publishing, priced at Rs 395)

'Blossom Showers is a gripping novel centred on three generations of the Cordelio family, alternating between India’s Western Ghats and West Coast.  Rex Cordelio, the dispossessed heir of a noble family, makes his fortune and founds his own coffee planting dynasty. He commences a tale of triumph and turbulence that will carry over into the lives of his descendants, as they each seek identity and emotional wholeness.

Propelled by an eventful pace and memorable characters, 'Blossom Showers' resonates with social history and psychological insight to imprint itself as a truly compelling saga.

A proud moment for Mangloreans indeed. a humble request to Gieselle, create or organise something for women who are from middle class families and there is no chance to come out and seek support or help of any kind. There are many who suffocate and die. I am sure your lead role will distroy this kind of diaster.

Indeed - Gisele's has been a story of success. She says something about Cordeiro's dynasty. She herself belongs to that great and renowned dynasty of The Lobo Clan. Her father J.M. Lobo Prabhu was himself a bureaucrat having secured his ICS in London at a very tender age. He was has a lot to his credit. Latterly he was Home Secretary in Madras and then a Member of The Parliament. No doubt Gisele has inherited the great qualities and talent from his father. her mother too was a prodigy and highly talented lady.

Gisele has made a great name for herself ... She can be rated as one of the finest speakers. She was a brilliant student and qualified as an IAS officer with ease. She has authored other books too and deserves highest praise.

Gisele has found a fine match in Dharmendra. - both being highly intellectual.

I have no doubt that the event for the release of The Book will be an entire success and that the book will find a place in the hands of all those who value good writing.

I have had the pleasure of knowing The Lobo Prabhu family for several decades. J.M. Lobo Prabhu was a very helpful person and I have no hesitation in saying that I am one of his beneficiaries. When I first landed in Madras as The Manager of a British Company I needed good accommodation in a residential area. It was Mr. Prabhu (lovingly called Uncle Bob) readily came forward and allotted me a fine house where Irene, our children and I lived until we were relocated.

KUDOS TO GISELLE AND MAY THIS BOOK BE A FOREVER OF MANY TO FOLLOW.

Gieselle Mehta is trying to be her mother Louella Lobo Prabhu. J. M Lobo Prabhu was an I. C. S and a good administrator in the olden days. I remember those days he stood independent candidate from Mangalore where I worked for him around 1968 but he lost. Lobo Prabhu Court was having a top building on
    Light House Hill Road
Mangalore. Around 1990 I met Louella in Mangalore. Her health was not good at time. She was living all alone.
I am happy to read Giesel ‘s articles and wish her every luck.
