Kadaba: Youth on verge of opening new jewellery shop found dead on road, suspicion behind death

Kadaba, Jun 23: The mortal remains of youth of the taluk, who was engrossed in preparations of inauguration of new gold jewellery shop at Mardala near here, was found killed in an accident, near Kempuhole under Sakleshpur police station limits on Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway on Thursday June 22.

The deceased is identified as Nagaprasad (32), son of Dayananda Acharya, a resident of Vidyanagara of Kodimbala village.

The new golden jewellery shop by the name ‘Aishwarya Gold’ was supposed to open on Thursday in the commercial complex of Mardala mosque. The shop was owned by Nagaprasad.

Nagaprasad who was busy in the inauguration work had been to Ichlampadi to give invitation card for the inauguration on Wednesday morning. After handing over the invitation card, Nagaprasad did not return home till evening. His family and friends were calling him on his mobile but he was not answering. His mobile phone was ringing till 10 pm of Wednesday and then went in switched off mode. His family members registered a missing person complaint at Kadaba police station on the morning of Thursday.

It is not known why Nagaprasad went to Sakleshpur from Ichlampadi. Two helmets were found at the spot where Nagaprasad’s body was found. It is said that Nagaprasad took two helmets from Kadaba itself. Though his wallet and some cash in it were found on the spot, his mobile phone which was ringing till 10 pm of Wednesday is missing. As two helmets were found on the spot it is suspected that someone might be riding pillion with Nagaprasad on the bike. Only police investigation will reveal the truth.

The bike that belonged to Nagaprasad was found in the drainage besides the highway at Kempuhole on the morning of Thursday. His mortal remains were also found near the bike. During spot inspection it is noticed that the bike hit the concrete slab by the side of the road and fell into the drain. Bike is badly damaged but there are no major injuries on the body of Nagaprasad.

Kadaba and Sakleshpur police arrived on the spot and took it to government hospital of Sakleshpur and got the post mortem done. Nagaprasad is survived by parents, brother and sister.

Nagaprasad used to go to the gymnasium regularly. He was an introvert and did not mingle much with others. He had good physique and had bagged consolation prizes in body building competitions. He used to work in a jewellery shop at Mardala and had the dream of owning his own shop. It is also said that his marriage was also fixed to be held in January 2024.
