Mangaluru: Scooterist dies after hitting divider as stray dog comes in way

Mangaluru, Jun 23: A scooter rider was killed as he tried to avoid a stray dog that ran across the road suddenly and hit a divider at Sharbathkatte at Yeyyadi in the city on Friday June 23.

The deceased is identified as Narasimha Gatty (67), a resident of Maroli Bajjodi. He was going from his house towards Yeyyadi when the mishap took place.

Gatty hit the dog and fell on the divider. His head hit the divider and he got seriously injured. Though he was rushed to A J Hospital, he succumbed on the way.

Gatty was doing the dealership work of a private company and is survived by wife and two sons.

    Always a tip to remember who ever reads this.. If animals come in front of you while driving a car or a bike, just hold your handle/steering wheel firm and hit it head on. Don't try to save it. Otherwise you will be in trouble like this.

    Disgusting suggestion. Two wheeler drivers need to wear helmet and drive with a moderate speed. Over speeding and rash over taking are the main causes.

    Deepest condolences to the family. Our roads are in very poor condition for vehicles especially two wheelers. There is so much water accumulated on the roads that destabilize vehicles and can cause collisions when vehicles try to avoid them. Why are the MCC & NHAI not pulled up by the DC for these dangerous conditions ?
