Mangaluru, Jul 2: The National Institute for Personnel Management, in collaboration with the Indian Society for Training and Development, organized a workshop on the topic 'Challenging Times at Work and HR Preparedness' on July 1, 2023, at ICI Bhavan in Mangaluru.

During the event, Praveen Kamath Kumbla, GM - HR, Global Strategic Hiring & Redeployment, discussed the current challenges in terms of culture and corporate environments, emphasizing the need to adapt to the changes demanded by the contemporary world and Artificial Intelligence. He shed light on emerging markets and highlighted the necessity of mastering multi-lingual skills. He concluded by emphasizing that despite the stumbling blocks one might encounter at work during challenging times, these obstacles can be overcome with energy, will, commitment, and determination.

P. P. Shetty, site director – BASF, Mangalore Works (Retired), moderated the session with precision and provided valuable insights on the global scenario and the tools that can be adopted for effective management of such challenges.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome from Steevan Pinto, chairman of NIPM, followed by a vote of thanks from CA M N Pai, chairman of ISTD. Dr. Malini Hebbar, secretary of ISTD, served as the master of ceremonies, and Dr. Devi Prabha Alva conducted an ice breaker activity. Asha Albuquerque Pai, Pruthvi, P. A. Jose, and Shekar Poojari played important roles throughout the evening.
