Bantwal, Jul 2: Laudato Si Sunday Vanamahothsav (Environmental Day) celebration was held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Ukkinadka ICYM Unit.

Laudato Si Sunday or Environment Day celebration was commenced with Holy Eucharistic celebration. Liturgical responsibility was taken by Catholic Sabha members.

The event was inaugurated by the slogan “Let us come together and plant” “Sangatha Melya, Zada Lavya”. Shortly after the mass, ICYM member Amitha Jenisha Dsouza welcomed all.

Parish priest Fr Sunil Miranda distributed the fruit plants to Zonal (Ward) leaders, vice president Joyal Monteiro, secretary
Sarini Crasta and ICYM vice president Jestan Monteiro.

A symbol of remembrance for Vanamahothsav the fruit plants and flower plants were planted by Catechism students and ICYM members in the church surroundings.
