Bengaluru, Jul 2: During a felicitation ceremony organised by Kaginele Gurpeeth in the city, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declined to honour former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa.

When Niranjananandapuri Swamiji of Kaginele Peetha requested Siddaramaiah to honour Eshwarappa, the latter declined and gestured to the seer to proceed.
The CM remained firm even when the Kaginele seer approached him with a shawl to honour Eshwarappa. Eventually, Kaginele Shrigale presented the honour to Eshwarappa.
Seer to provide list of Vachanas to be included in textbooks
Sanehalli Shivacharya Swamiji, who spoke at the event, stated, "You are aware of what happened to the school textbooks during the previous government's tenure. Lessons about Basavanna, Kuvempu, and many others were tampered with.
Finally, Basavanna's Vachana was changed after our intervention. There is still a lot to be revised in the textbooks. The Siddaramaiah government will address it. Additionally, scriptures should be included in the textbooks and all students should be able to recite the verses. We will provide a list of verses that should be included in the textbooks."
Some Ministers don't answer calls even When the CM does
When we call from the Math, some ministers do not answer the phone. However, the chief minister answers and engages in conversation. Swamiji mentioned that even though Shivaraj is busy, he still finds time to speak on the phone.
Visiting Chamarajanagar doesn't result in losing the CM position
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, speaking later, dispelled the notion that visiting Chamarajanagar would cost him his position. He noted that previous CMs had not visited Chamarajanagar due to the belief that doing so would lead to losing the chief minister post.
Siddaramaiah emphasised that he had visited Chamarajanagar 12 times and had been re-elected as chief minister for the second time.
The CM stated that those who had visited Chamarajanagar did not lose their CM position; instead, the chief minister's post was lost due to political reasons. He regarded the superstition about visiting Chamarajanagar as unfounded and cited the case of why Bommai lost the chief minister post.
Community leader H Vishwanath, Minister Byrathi Suresh, MLA S T Somashekhar, former Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa, and H M Revanna were present at the event.
