Beltangady, Jul 3: Three vehicles overturned as the drivers of them lost control in the vicinity of Charmadi market and ghat areas on Sunday due to the incessant rains that poured throughout the day.
A Tempo Traveller that was moving from Ujire to Mudigere and a car that was going to Ujire from Mudigere overturned at a distance of 100 meters apart. As the lower part of Charmadi Ghat section is made of very nice asphalt, vehicles are getting skid.
Locals who arrived to pull the passengers in the vehicles had tough time as there was heavy traffic congestion.
On the ninth bend of Charmadi Ghat, a car driver by Bengaluru origin person, overturned and the passengers escaped with minor injuries.
Locals of Charmadi area have urged highway authorities to change the asphalt on the road several times but the administration is not responding.
