New Delhi, Jul 31 (IANS): The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has decided to float four new companies, including one for imported liquor trade and another to run the liquor vends, its chairman and managing director Chetan Sanghi said here Sunday.
"While one of the four companies will take care of maintenance of industrial estates, another will be importing choicest of liquor brands from across the world. The other two companies will foray into providing energy solutions and running its existing liquor vends in the capital," Sanghi, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, said in a statement.
"The four companies - DSIIDC Energy, DSIIDC Liquor, DSIIDC Maintenance and DSIIDC Impex - will be wholly-owned subsidiaries of the DSIIDC. We are starting these companies with an initial equity of Rs.1 crore each. We are in process of appointing managing directors to the four entities," he said
The DSIIDC has already signed agreement with two industrial estates - Bawana and Narela - for their maintenance for next 15 years at a cost of Rs.27 crore per year on public-private partnership basis.
Similarly, the corporation will soon start maintaining 28 industrial estates that are currently maintained by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. DSIIDC Maintenance Limited is likely to take up these projects in its fold.
The DSIIDC earlier used to export human resource to the middle-east and various other countries and import minerals.
"But for some reason, it was discontinued. We are going to revive it again. But initially, the DSIIDC Impex will focus on importing liquor brands," Sanghi said.
The DSIIDC Energy Limited, he said, will provide energy services. The corporation has already executed two major projects - illuminating Jantar Mantar and Safdurjung Tomb - using solar energy.
"The corporation has already submitted its proposal to carry out similar lighting at Red Fort and Lotus Temple. Making office buildings energy-efficient is also on the corporation's radar. We will take up such projects under the wings of DSIIDC Energy Limited," he added.
