Bengaluru, Aug 17: Continuing the confabulations with party legislators of different districts to strengthen the ruling Congress party and prepare for next year’s Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar held meetings with legislators and MPs of the six districts of Mysuru, Gadag, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada and Vijayanagar in Bengaluru on Thursday.

The district in-charge ministers of the respective districts joined the deliberations held in separate district-wise batches in the morning and afternoon at the Chief Minister’s Home Office 'Krishna'.

The thrust of the discussions was asking the legislators to closely monitor the implementation of the five guarantees and also the programmes announced in the Congress budget for the year 2023-24.

Both the chief minister and deputy chief minister emphasised the need to effectively counter the misinformation campaign being carried out by the opposition BJP and JD(S) and also to remain united.
