Bantwal, Aug 27: P N Govinda Bhat (89), the retired headmaster of A U P School, Bayaru Muligadde, and a resident of Padyana, Karopadi in the taluk, breathed his last due to old age at his residence during the night of August 16.

Born on August 21, 1934, he served as the secretary of the Mitra Mandali after his retirement from the school.

He was also a Homeopathic doctor and held the position of director at Karopady cooperative society bank on two occasions.

Additionally, he was recognized for his skills as a dramatist, a progressive farmer, and a dedicated activist of the RSS.

He is survived by three sons and a large number of his students.
