Udupi: New cabinet of Lions district 317C installation on Aug 19, Dr Nery Cornelio to be governor

Udupi, Aug 18: “The installation ceremony of the new governor and cabinet of Lion district 317C will be held on August 19 at 3 pm in Amruth Garden, Ambagilu,” said Dr Nery Cornelio, district governor Lions district 317C.

Addressing a press meet in Udupi press club Dr Nery Cornelio said, "The Lions district 317C consists of Udupi, Shivamogga, Davanagere and Chitradurga revenue districts and consists of more than 3000 members. The district is involved in social service activities by establishing and maintaining various schools, eye hospitals, community kitchens, and other health related services. Dr Nery Cornelio, renowned academician, retired principal of Milagres College Kallianpur, lawyer, and social worker has been selected as the district governor for the year 2023-24. Various social activities are planned to initiate which will be held under the banner of 'Belaku’ district programme. The new cabinet will be working under the theme of ‘Live to lead’.

"Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop diocese of Udupi will grace the occasion. Lion KG Ramakrishna Murthy, past international director will be installing the new cabinet. Lion K Vamsidhar Babu, past international director is the chief guest for the programme. Lion G Srinivas, past district governor district 317E and LCIP trainer will be guest of honour. Renowned police officer Valentine D’Souza will be honoured on the occasion. Distribution of laptops for the deserving students will also be held during the programme," he said.

Siddaraju, marketing and communication officer Raviraj Nayak, district cabinet secretary Suguna Kumar, host committee chairperson Richard Dias, district cabinet treasurer George D’Souza, and editor Jagadish Holla were present.
