Udupi: SKPA Udupi zone, Tanishq Jewellery celebrate World Photography Day

Udupi, Aug 18: “Only photographers wish for a smile on the faces of others and say smile please. Therefore they are dear to all. It is praiseworthy that they identify those who conduct their own businesses and honour them,” said Poornima, assistant director of the department of Kannada and culture.

She was speaking after inaugurating the Chaya Samman programme held by South Kanara Photographers Association Udupi zone and Tanishq Gold and Diamond Jewellery Udupi.

Senior photographers Manjunath Devadiga, Krishna Serigar, Jayakar Devadiga, Ramesh S Poojary and Sujatha Andrade were felicitated with Chaya Samman award on the occasion.

Professor Balakrishna Maddodi, K Vasudeva Rao, Sudhir M Shetty, Sandeep Kamath, Vaman Padukere, Tanishq Jewellery’s Gretta Saldanha, Leon Saldanha and Onil Saldanha were present.

Zonal president Janardhan Kodavoor presided over the programme. Tanishq Udupi branch business associate Maxim Stephan Saldanha welcomed. Poornima Janardhan compered the programme. Shobhita rendered the vote of thanks.
