Chitradurga, Aug 19: Agricultural sector is facing numerous issues. Youngsters who enter this field are using new technology. Solar powered mini tractor is one of them.

Channabasappa, progressive farmer of Siddavvanadurga has used mini tractors that are powered by solar to grow various crops. He has saved lot of money on fuel due to the use of this machine.

The mini solar powered tractor works for eight hours without any hurdle if it is charged completely. This is used in placed of traditional oxen that was used earlier. Selco Foundation paid the cost of tractor of Rs 2.09 lac while beneficiary Channabasappa spent Rs 65000 for its other equipment.
