Mangaluru, Aug 19: “I have been blamed for the death of ten dogs and cattle near Alankarugudde, Talapady. Let the truth come out after investigation. The false allegations are made against me because, as a former member of Talapady gram panchayat, I spoke about inferior quality work in my village,” alleged Makyar Khader.

“There are allegations that I poisoned cattle at Alankarugudde. There are also allegations that I sexually harassed women. I am married and have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. My parents and grandparents were born and grew up in this village. All of us are living in harmony. I have been rearing goats. Yes, I wanted to kill a dog that attacked a goat. But all the goats, animals, birds would have died if I poisoned them. I am willing to admit if those who blame me say the same in a temple. The police department should conduct a post-mortem of the animals that died,” he said.

Gadinadu Rakshana Vedike president Siddik Talapady said that there are attempts to sow the seeds of discord in this peaceful place. Makyar Khader has decided to go to the court for spoiling his name, he said.
