Mangaluru: Seminar held on investment and insurance at Holy Family Church, Omzoor

Mangaluru, Aug 21: Church commissions of Holy Family Church, Omzoor organized a half day-long interactive seminar on stock market and mutual funds, health insurance schemes and life insurance policies.

Seminar commenced by invoking God’s blessings. Elroy Saldanha, coordinator of church commissions, Omzoor welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons for the day.

Praveen Lawrence Lobo was the resource person for the first session on stock market and mutual funds. He briefly explained the meaning of wealth, difference between savings and investment, the concept of ugly v/s good spending, types of asset classes, meaning of equity and mutual funds. He also showed all the calculations. At the end of the session a quick Q&A was also conducted.

Naveen from Star Health Insurance, was the resource person for the session on health insurance. He explained the importance and need to have a health insurance policy. He then briefly explained the various health insurance policies available in their company and the facilities and coverage included.

Santhosh and Victor Rodrigues from SBI Life Insurance were the resource persons for the last session on life insurance policies. Santhosh in his interactive session explained the various schemes and life insurance policies one can avail through SBI services. He briefed about the various plans such as Retire Smart Plan, Sampoorn Cancer Suraksha Plan, Rinn Raksha, and Smart Swadhan Plus.

Fr Alwyn Dcunha, parish priest, Br Rajath, vice president of PPC Arther Dsouza, secretary of PPC Dafny Lewis, coordinator of church commissions Elroy Saldanha were present.

Tenisha Pinto compered the programme. Elroy Saldanha proposed a vote of thanks.
