Kundapura, Aug 23: Members of the Kingfisher Sports club have requested the tahsildar to vacate the gym classes and cancel their licence as it is unauthorised.

“The gym classes are being held at the unauthorised building of Bhandarkar’s College and the gym owners have hijacked and registered it,” stated the Kharvikeri Kingfisher Sports Club members.

Sathish Kharvi of Kharvikeri is conducting the New Hercules gym classes in building No. 393-13 8 of the college. The heads of Bhandarkars College have already issued a notice to the municipal council chief executive. The gym is being conducted without permission, they stated.

There is no safety for students of the gym. Women also are being trained there without basic facilities, they stated.

“Our elders have been conducting sports activities at Kharvikeri for the last 45 years by the name of Kharvikeri Sports Club. But we had not got it registered. Sathish Kharvi has got it registered as Kingfisher Sports Club.”

“The licence of the gym should be cancelled before July 31,” they said. Kingfisher Sports Club president Ranjith Kharvi, municipal councillor Chandrashekar Kharvi and members were present.
