Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje directs officials to complete national highway works on priority

Udupi, Aug 23: Union minister Shobha Karandlaje has directed officials to take up and complete national highway works on priority.
 
Presiding over the progress review meeting of NH 66, 169 and 169A held at the deputy commissioner’s office on Wednesday, April 23, she asked officials to take all the precautions during the underpass work on NH 66 by deploying more workers round the clock and ensured prevention of road cave-ins of mud and also by erecting retaining walls.

“The acquisition of land from Karavali junction till Malpe port for the road should be completed and work should begin soon. The Indrali bridge work on NH 169 should be completed before November. There should be no scarcity of facilities at Udupi railway station,” she said.
 


“The health department and local organisations should create awareness about health among local people as cases of dengue are being reported in the district,” she directed the local organisation officers.

MLA Yashpal Suvarna said that accidents can be prevented when works
are conducted in a scientific manner.

Deputy Commissioner Dr K Vidya Kumari, district SP Akshay M Hakay, Kundapura sub-divisional officer Rashmi S R, National highway authority
