No Unilateral Intrusion of Chinese Firms into India

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS): Chinese companies do not get to sign memorandums of understanding with Indian firms without security clearance.

This was made clear by Minister of State for Home Affairs Jitendra Singh in the Lok Sabha Tuesday.

He was asked if it was true that several Chinese firms had signed MoUs with their Indian counterparts without security approval.

Jintendra Singh said that such collaboration was always vetted by the home ministry, based on inputs from the central intelligence agencies.

"Signing of MoU by various firms and entities does not preclude or substitute or replace these security vetting requirements," he said.
