Lucknow, Aug 11: A love story that started with a missed call landed both the lovers behind bars. As love bloomed, the girl along with her boyfriend planted her kidnapping drama demanding ransom from her parents. However, Lucknow police laid a trap leading to their arrest.

The Lucknow police panicked when Anand Kumar Jaiswal, a driver with government’s labour department and a resident of Ruchi Khand, Sharda Nagar lodged a report with Ashiyana police station on Tuesday stating that his daughter Priya Jaiswal (20) had not returned since Monday. Last time, Priya left the house stating that she was going to her aunt’s house in same locality.

Anand also received a ransom call on his mobile phone with the kidnapper claiming that his daughter is in their possession and demanded a ransom of Rs five lakhs for her safe return. For whole day, calls and SMS followed and later the deal was struck at Rs one lakh. In between calls with emotional appeal from Priya followed to her father claiming-‘save me papa’.

The kidnapper acted smart and asked him to send the money through Priya’s  younger brother Rahul near Charbagh railway station by a tempo. Police after electronic surveillance had tracked the location of the kidnapper and planned a trap. A policeman became driver of the tempo in which Rahul sat with the money bag while several other policemen remained in civil clothes near the scheduled point. After some time, a youth appeared who looked suspicious and when Rahul waved hand at him he responded. However, in a swift move, he was surrounded by police but before that he managed to break his phone and swallowed the SIM card.

Later, he was brought at police station and interrogated. He was identified as Ashish Tiwari, a resident of Sonbhadra district of the state. At his information, police recovered Priya Jaiswal from Room no.10 9, Hotel Oasis International in Mahanagar locality. However, police was shocked to hear the whole story.

DIG Lucknow, DK Thakur stated that both were in love and wanted to marry and had hatched a plan for kidnapping drama to extract money from Priya’s parents. The love story too started from a missed call. One year back, Ashish after completing his postgraduate from Kashi Vidyapeeth in Varanasi was working in a call centre there.

Somehow he received a missed call on his mobile phone. Out of curiousity he responded and on other side it was Priya Jaiswal from Lucknow. Later calls followed and love blossomed between them. Ashish left his job and reached Lucknow. Priya who is a graduate was a teacher in Swami Vivekanand School also left her job and both were making plans for their future. Money acted as a deterrent and parents of Priya also opposed the relationship.

Later, Priya instigated Ashish to hatch a kidnapping drama. As per plans, Priya was kidnapped by Ashish and ransom call was made to her parents. It was planned that after getting the money they will leave for other city and live happily.

However, fate has another thing in store for them. Police reacted on time and both were arrested. Surprisingly at the SP(east) office in Lucknow the love birds had no remorse and Priya admitted that she was also involved in the kidnapping drama.
