Karkala, Sep 10: The Udupi district BJP Minority Morcha organised a chess tournament for students at the Moodu Mahaganapathi Temple auditorium in Bandimath, Karkala, as part of celebrations marking prime minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
The tournament was inaugurated by Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar. Speaking on the occasion, he said that every sector and community is receiving equal opportunities under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. He described chess as a symbol of concentration, strategy and intelligence, and said that the game helps develop discipline, unity and strategic thinking among the younger generation.
Udupi district BJP president Kuthyar Naveen Shetty said the tournament was organised successfully by the district BJP Minority Morcha in keeping with the prime minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. He said chess helps improve decision-making abilities among students.
